- About ACCT
Alberta is a leader of this key research process with the highest average number of patients enrolled in clinical trials in the country.
Alberta Cancer Clinical Trials (ACCT) is comprised of two operational clinical trials units, one situated at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton and another at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary.
Each trial unit, overseen by a Medical Director, provide trained staff and supportive services to cancer researchers to provide Albertans with safe and stable access to cutting-edge cancer therapies and experimental cancer treatments not yet available on the market.
Operating autonomously within CancerControl Alberta, we inform Albertans about available trials and attract talented investigators to our province’s world-class research facilities. Our units strive to increase the number and diversity of cancer clinical trials thus allowing more patients the opportunity to choose clinical trials as a treatment option and to enhance the quality of their care.
We are creating an efficient, robust and sustainable cancer clinical trials system through communications, collaboration and coordination initiatives, thus contributing to the ultimate goal of building a cancer-free Alberta.
Our work is made possible through the support of the Alberta Cancer Foundation and other partners. Alberta Cancer Clinical Trials Partners
